Parent Involvement

City Kids is a parent/teacher co-operative Childcare Centre. It is community-based and non-profit making. A management committee is responsible for governance of the Centre.

Parent involvement at City Kids includes:

  • Joining the Management committee (meetings a held once a month in the evenings)
  • Working bees, which are held 2-3 times per year.
  • Joining in with special events for children and families; celebrations, educational evenings, fish & chip evenings, summer barbecues etc.
  • Fundraising - usually for specific purchases such as new bikes, sand equipment, shade cloth etc.
  • Offering specialized skills, such as building, plumbing, ICT
  • There is an expectation that all families will be involved in some way.
